The Spin

Techno-optimist narrative

Personal Intelligence is a breakthrough in making AI genuinely useful by allowing it to understand individual users with their explicit permission. Where generic models cannot understand the personal context required to suggest tailored plans, Personal Intelligence is equipped with all the tools and engines to do so, making it a uniquely helpful digital assistant.

Techno-skeptic narrative

Google's Personal Intelligence is a transparent data grab disguised as convenience. The examples Google provides for users are laughable — such as needing AI to find tire sizes or license plates — and expose it for the data harvesting system that it is.  Users would be better off waiting until Gemini is integrated into Apple before using it, given Apple's strict privacy guidelines.
