The Spin

Left narrative

Two fatalities in a week from the so-called "Safe" task force are an unacceptable result of its illegal presence in Memphis. While the latest incident remains under investigation, authorities admitted Johnson didn't fire at soldiers. Body camera footage must be released immediately, and this military occupation of an American city must end.

Right narrative

Memphis was the most crime-ridden city in America before the task force launched, and the numbers since speak for themselves — a 43% drop in overall crime, 155 missing people recovered, and nearly 10,600 arrests made. The task force is doing exactly what it promised and dismantling this operation now would hand the city back to the violent criminals who terrorized it.
