The Spin

Climate-concerned narrative

Europe's deadly heatwave is a direct consequence of climate change, and the death toll proves the cost of inaction. Scientists confirm that of 51 heatwaves recorded in France since 1947, 34 have occurred since 2000. Burning fossil fuels is making these events more frequent, more intense and deadlier, and pretending otherwise is a choice with deadly consequences.

Climate-skeptic narrative

This heatwave is a natural meteorological event — a weather pattern simply pulling Saharan air northward — and the immediate priority is public safety, not political narratives. The real need here is better preparedness, better infrastructure and better public awareness messaging, not climate alarmism.
