The Spin

Pro-government narrative

After Oct. 7, 2023, UCLA allowed antisemitism to run rampant, creating a hostile environment where Jewish employees and students faced physical assaults, exclusion and discrimination, all while the university stood by and did nothing. If the University of California will not enforce even the most basic protections, then the DOJ will do it for them, while holding them accountable for their failure.

Pro-establishment narrative

Pursuant to the Frankel settlement, UCLA has implemented a host of comprehensive institutional reforms to combat antisemitism, including hiring dedicated civil rights officers, establishing a specialized initiative and strengthening safety protocols. These decisive actions should expel any notion that the university does not take seriously discrimination or its commitment to protect all community members on campus.
