Ritualistic abuse is real, and survivors deserve to be believed. The gap between 1,311 helpline disclosures and only seven recorded crimes, however, is evidence of a systemic policing failure to recognize patterns of coercion designed to sound implausible. The police can, and will, solve this by embracing trauma-informed responses to give these cases the consideration they deserve.
The police's appalling failure to tackle ritualistic child sexual abuse is demonstrative of the authorities' refusal to confront that imported barbarism that is destroying the lives of British children. Cultural sensitivities have allowed hundreds of cases to go unreported annually, all because the police are too scared to prosecute.
