Toronto needs a genuine outsider, and Chris Alexander fits that bill — a diplomat, former cabinet minister and U.N. official who brings a record no other candidate can match. The city has been standing still, and it's going to take someone unbeholden to council politics to fix transit, housing and economic growth. Alexander's depth of experience is exactly what Toronto needs to stop underperforming.
Left narrative
Alexander has zero municipal experience and lost his federal seat back in 2015 — a man who's simply out of touch. Toronto deserves a candidate who actually knows the city, not one who had to move back in 2022. Mayor Chow is fighting for a vibrant and prosperous Toronto, and a politician who lost in disgrace after a shameful episode of race-baiting cannot represent a city as diverse as Toronto.
Right narrative
The primary objective for right-leaning voters is to unseat Chow and reverse the decline of the city caused by progressive policies. Alexander is simply going to split the conservative vote away from Bradford and ensure another four years of leftist mismanagement. With a safer, cleaner, and more just city on the line, Alexander cannot enter this race in good conscience. Bradford is the only alternative.
