The Ebola outbreak in DRC is being hyped far beyond what the facts support — poverty, conflict and distrust of foreign aid workers are the real drivers, not some unstoppable pathogen. Parachuting in highly paid Western consultants and unproven vaccines only enriches the NGO industry. Local communities have managed Ebola for 50 years and can do so again with community-led support.
