Zelenskyy Responds to Putin's Call for Direct Talks

Russia has demonstrated its full commitment to the peace process. However, any resolution of the fighting depends on durable agreements that eliminate the root causes of the conflict. Russia needs to protect its national interest.

It's a positive sign that Russia is finally willing to end the war. The whole world has been waiting for this and there's no need for the killing to go on for a single day longer. Russia should immediately accept a full and unconditional ceasefire.
Pro-Trump narrative
While it doesn't appear that Putin wants to stop the fighting, Zelenskyy should immediately accept his proposal for direct negotiations. At least Ukraine and other world leaders will be able to determine if Putin is really serious.
