The Spin

Pro-Trump narrative

Trump has consistently said that this conflict has gone on for far too long and the killing has to stop. This war is causing World War II levels of destruction and that's why the Trump administration is all hands on deck to bring it to an end.

Anti-Trump narrative

While Trump may desire a quick end to the war, the reality is neither Russia nor Ukraine are likely to play ball with his conditions. Russia is making steady gains on the battlefield and has little incentive to stop. Meanwhile, Ukraine may not want to concede unless it can get serious security guarantees such as NATO membership.
