The Spin

Republican narrative

Democrat attorneys general are weaponizing the legal system against Trump supporters who lawfully challenged the 2020 election under the First Amendment and the Electoral Count Act. These alternate electors committed no crimes — they simply preserved legal options in case Congress sustained objections on Jan. 6, just like Democrats challenged Republican wins in past elections.

Democratic narrative

The judge was wise to allow these cases to proceed. Wisconsin's prosecution is targeting the high-level architects who orchestrated a nationwide fake elector scheme, not just the electors themselves. Unlike failed cases in Michigan and Georgia, this case focuses on proving the organizers' intent to commit fraud through forged documents falsely claiming Trump won the state.
