The federal government must protect women's sports and enforce Title IX as intended, ensuring fair competition and safety for female athletes. Biological differences between males and females create inherent competitive advantages that compromise the integrity of women's sports. The participation of transgender athletes in female categories violates the civil rights of biological women and girls.
Title IX does not, in any way, prohibit schools from allowing transgender girls and women to compete in women’s and girl’s sports. Maine, as enshrined in the U.S. Constitution, has the right to interpret the law as it sees fit. The state will not be kowtowed by the administration’s threats and will act by the law, protecting all students' rights to participate in school activities.
