The Spin

Pro-Trump narrative

The Supreme Court’s decision to block Alsup’s injunction is a stunning rebuke to activist judges, and a clear warning that the judiciary will no longer be allowed to overstep its bounds. President Trump has the mandate and the muscle to rid the federal workforce of its unproductive elements; all the courts have to do is quit the power grab and allow him to do his job.

Anti-Trump narrative

The Supreme Court’s administrative stay is yet another example of how insipid the highest echelons of the U.S. judiciary have become. Rather than enforce the law, the Supreme Court appears more concerned with avoiding a showdown with the president and protecting its legitimacy. Without any accountability, Trump will ride roughshod over the Constitution.
