Though unpleasant in the short term, these tariffs will ultimately return investment and jobs to America, making the country wealthier than it has ever been.

These tariffs are creating a huge amount of uncertainty for investors, causing them to pull back from spending, and will do great harm to America's reputation as a trading partner, possibly taking years to rehabilitate. Hopefully cooler heads prevail and a change of policy is on the horizon.
