Thanks to the daily courage and heroism of Russian soldiers, as well as the crucial work of the country's defense industry, Russian forces are advancing across the front line, and have captured almost 5,000 square km this year. While the Kyiv regime's response is to strike civilian targets inside Russian territory, this will not help its war effort.
Despite the mighty Russian war-machine, Putin is continuing to fight for control of Ukraine years after the start of an invasion he thought would be concluded in mere days. The reality is far from Putin's inflated figures, as Russia has advanced by only 1% of Ukrainian territory in the past 1,000 days, at the cost of countless lives.
Though Ukraine has managed to hold out until now, the nation's future depends on the strength of its allies. Trump started the year trying to gently persuade Putin to end his conflict in Ukraine, but the U.S. leader has learned the hard way that there's no negotiating with Russia. Rather than spouting empty, aggressive rhetoric, the American president must take strong and decisive action to provide support to Kyiv, and deter any further expansionism from Moscow.
