Israel had every right to respond decisively to rocket attacks from Syrian territory. The new Syrian government must be held accountable for controlling armed groups within its borders and preventing attacks on Israeli civilians. These strikes send a clear message that Israel won't tolerate threats from any direction, especially after October 7 showed the consequences of complacency.
Anti-Israel narrative
Syria's new government is being unfairly blamed for attacks it didn't authorize while trying to establish control over the country. Israel's massive bombing campaign has destroyed Syrian military infrastructure, making it harder for Damascus to maintain security in border areas. The real culprits appear to be Iranian-backed militias seeking to sabotage Syrian stabilization efforts.
