The Spin

Pro-Trump narrative

The Trump administration rightly wants to know more about Greenland's keen desire for independence following a long and sad history of colonial abuses from Denmark. Greenlanders have a right to determine their own course, and they stand much to gain from strengthening ties with America.

Anti-Trump narrative

Trump's Greenland folly has taken a sad and disturbing turn, with individuals close to the president now spying on a NATO ally to support his vain wishes. The U.S. is isolating itself by being needlessly antagonistic towards allies like Denmark. This is not conduct befitting of the world's most powerful democracy.
