The Spin

Left narrative

The ECHR is a cornerstone of British democracy, protecting individuals from government abuse and ensuring fairness even when politics fails. The crisis at Epping shows not that we should abandon these safeguards, but that the asylum system itself is overloaded, mismanaged, and in need of real reform. Leaving the ECHR won’t fix that; honest, competent policy will.

Right narrative

Labour’s stance exposes its true intentions: putting the rights of illegal migrants above British communities. Epping’s concerns are being ignored while the Home Office bows to the ECHR. Britain must put its people first, starting by leaving the Convention so national security and community needs come before foreign courts and asylum seekers.
