Thousands of Brazilian patriots gathered peacefully again, this time in São Paulo, to call for the release of Jan. 8 political prisoners, many of whom have been behind bars without trial. These men and women are law-abiding citizens that have done nothing wrong and deserve justice.

Brazil's J8 rioters, as well as Bolsonaro and several of his allies, have been charged for their role in a coup attempt following his electoral defeat in 2022. Make no mistake, the Brazilian right-wing leader is desperately putting pressure on Congress for an amnesty for his own benefit, as he faces impending trial for a coup plot.
