The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) backed an Egypt-led proposal to rebuild Gaza under Palestinian Authority on Saturday — an alternative to US Pres. Donald Trump's plan to depopulate the enclave.
The $53.2B Arab League plan envisions rebuilding in two stages without displacing its population, while maintaining Palestinian control through a technocrats' panel before transitioning to Palestinian Authority.
The plan, proposed by Egyptian Pres. Abdel Fattah el-Sissi, has received broad global support, including from France, Germany, Italy, and the UK, who voiced their support on Saturday.
