Russia once again targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure on Wednesday. Strikes, according to Ukrainian accounts, were recorded in the western regions of Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv, as well as Kharkiv in the east.
An account of the strikes in Russian media alleged that additional energy facilities were also struck in four central regions of Ukraine, as well as in downtown Kyiv. However, at time of reporting, this could not be independently confirmed.
Russia continues to wage terror on Ukrainian civilians by destroying energy facilities in the middle of winter. As a result of these strikes, emergency blackouts have been imposed in a number of regions.
This latest attack follows strikes in Russia's Bryansk region with long-range weapons provided by Western countries. Russia has vowed to retaliate for the use of these weapons and this occasion is no different.
