The Facts

  • Former presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who's currently Pres.-elect Donald Trump's nominee to lead the Dept. of Health and Human Services (HHS), has been accused by a Democratic-aligned watchdog group, Accountable.US, of committing voter fraud. The group alleges that Kennedy voted from a Katonah, NY address in the 2024 election.

  • Kennedy claimed he rented a room from a childhood friend in Katonah, but the friend's spouse testified he only spent one night at the location.

The Spin

Republican narrative

The complaint is a politically motivated attack from a partisan organization run by former Democratic operatives and donors. The same lawfare the left has used to attack Trump is now going after Kennedy because it can't defeat Trump and his allies at the ballot box.

Democratic narrative

Kennedy has demonstrated his disregard for legal requirements. This incident raises serious concerns about his fitness to lead a major federal agency. The Senate would do well to ask about this matter in addition to several other cases of questionable judgment on Kennedy's part.
