    The Facts

    • US District Judge Danny C. Reeves on Thursday struck down nationwide the Biden administration's Title IX rules expanding protections for LGBTQ+ students, which previously had been halted in 26 states after legal challenges by Republicans.

    • The administration's new rules last year expanded Title IX's prohibition of discrimination to include gender identity or sexual orientation. The definition of harassment was also expanded.

    The Spin

    Republican narrative

This is a colossal victory against the radical agenda of the Biden administration and its allies on the far left. It should be the goal of every administration to protect the well-being and privacy of women. The incoming Trump administration will be sure that there's no appeal of this ruling.

    Democratic narrative

This decision is nothing but a blatant attack on transgender students, who should have the same rights to an education and their livelihood that other students have. In states where these rules were previously rolled back, we've already seen bullying and discrimination against transgender students. Something must be done to reinstitute the Title IX expansion.
