According to a statement from the Israeli prime minister's office, Benjamin Netanyahu is in good condition and fully conscious after undergoing a successful prostate removal surgery at the Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem on Sunday night.
Netanyahu was under complete anesthesia for the procedure that lasted about two hours, with the prime minister later transferred to a fortified underground recovery unit where he is expected to remain for observation in the coming days.
Benjamin Netanyahu's medical procedure has been successful, and should not raise any alarm over his health because his prostate condition is non-cancerous and quite common in men his age. Once fully recovered, the Israeli prime minister will be back to lead the country.
It's certain that a prostate removal surgery isn't too much of a big deal, but the issue with Netanyahu is that concerns regarding his health — and for how long he would be able to lead Israel — have been mounting due to a series of medical procedures he underwent over the past years.
