A small private plane heading to Jundiaí in São Paulo state crashed into buildings in the southern mountain resort town of Gramado, Rio Grande do Sul, on Sunday morning shortly after taking off from nearby Canela airport, killing 10 people.
All fatalities were on board the aircraft owned and piloted by Brazilian businessman Luiz Claudio Galeazzi, including his wife and three daughters.
It's concerning that another high-profile crash involving a private plane occurred in Brazil. While the cause of this incident has yet to be determined, human failure—including related to maintenance and safety routines—may be to blame for this tragedy.
The weather was unfavorable at the time of the crash, but it's unclear if this caused the tragedy. Right now, one must refrain from speculating about this incident and wait for local aeronautical authorities to conclude their inquiry.
