On Tuesday, Mexican authorities arrested a suspect — identified as Jose Guadalupe N. — connected to the kidnapping of four US citizens, two of whom were murdered. It hasn't been revealed whether he's part of the cartel accused of the kidnappings.
The four Americans – Latavia McGee, Eric James Williams, Shaeed Woodard, and Zindell Brown – were abducted last week and found Tuesday in a wooden shack in Ejido Tecolote, east of the city of Matamoros in the state of Tamaulipas. Woodward and Brown had been killed, while McGee and Williams were transferred to Brownsville, Texas, for treatment.
Thanks to Biden’s horrendous policies, Mexican drug cartels control Americans on both sides of the border. The cartels kidnap and murder US citizens in Mexico and on American soil, and through drug overdoses using the fentanyl they traffic via the porous border. How many more need to die before Democrats enact effective border policies?
The violence that takes place in Mexico has nothing to do with Biden’s border policy. People legally cross the border both ways to attend schools, shop and fulfill medical appointments. These victims, like many others, were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Some of the same far-right Republicans who want to abandon Ukraine in the fight against Russia's invasion are now calling on the US military to fight the Mexican cartels. There are other solutions for the border's problems, but treating cartels as terrorist groups and effectively declaring war on its southern neighbor is one of the worst ideas in American political history.
