Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is reportedly negotiating a plea bargain to avoid a trial on charges of bribery, breach of trust, and fraud dating to 2019.
Negotiations have stalled on whether or not the deal should include a "moral turpitude" clause that would bar him from seeking office for some time.
Netanyahu engaged in extensive corruption aimed at undermining the public's trust in democracy and must be barred from seeking political office.
Netanyahu has been denied due process and his prosecution is a means of preventing him and his right-wing Likud Party from forming a governing coalition.
