A 40-year old Asian-American woman was killed in an unprovoked attack on Saturday morning, pushed in front of an approaching New York subway train.
In his initial public remarks on the incident, Mayor Eric Adams assured residents that the subway system is safe and that the real issue was "fighting the perception of fear."
