Republican Gerrymander of North Carolina Maps Is Upheld in Court
New York TimesNov 25, 2021
A state court have rejected accusations of GOP gerrymandering in NC.
Voting rights groups had claimed the new districts were unconstitutional.
The maps unconstitutionally reduce minority representation; this ruling is the result of a politicized judiciary.
To rule the re-draw unconstitutional would set a dangerous precedent. It is more democratic to make politicians accountable for re-designing voting districts.
Both Democrats and Republicans gerrymander massively, making American democracy far from fair. Election laws should change.
