Michigan A.G. Dana Nessel has asked the DOJ to investigate a group of Republicans who allegedly signed fake documents in an effort to steer the state's 2020 electoral votes to Donald Trump.
The group allegedly tried to gain access to the state capitol as votes were being certified and, when denied entry, signed forged election certificates they submitted to the National Archives.
Fake electors signed almost identical documents in 6 other swing states, suggesting a broader conspiracy to steal the election. Evidence from Trump's Twitter account suggests he was personally aware of the efforts.
The existence of these documents has been known for over a year and Nessel is now using them to try and score points in an election year.
