An American Airlines flight to London was diverted back to Miami after a passenger refused to comply with federal mask requirements.
The passenger, a woman in her 40s, was escorted off the plane by police but was not charged or detained.
4,290 mask-related incidents and nearly 6,000 unruly passenger incidents were reported by the FAA in 2021.
