Finally a leader with the guts to junk 40 years of stale consensus and offer something genuinely hopeful. A National Care Service would be this generation's NHS, and honest talk about pensions shows real courage rather than ducking hard choices. Patriotism rooted in pride and decency, not xenophobia, is exactly what the country has been starved of.
Tears and warm anecdotes are no substitute for a serious plan to fix a broken economy. Reheated Seventies socialism already bankrupted Britain once, and the finances are in far worse shape this time around. Most of this will quietly vanish into the long grass the moment it gets difficult, which was probably the point.
