This tech is already stealing creators' work, hooking kids on chatbots that push self-harm and flooding elections with fakes. Voters overwhelmingly want real safeguards, so taking Silicon Valley's money is both a betrayal of Democratic values and terrible politics.
Refusing to engage means handing the rules of the future to countries that don't share American values. Leading the Future backs Democrats and Republicans alike, pushes federal child-safety standards, frontier model safety rules and workforce training, and supported New York's final RAISE Act and California's SB 53. Even Democratic pollsters admit AI panic isn't what voters are asking for — affordability is.
