The Spin

The Constitution hands election rules to Congress and the states, not to a president with a pen and a postal agency. Letting the USPS screen ballot mail and cut off delivery to states it deems noncompliant would have thrown the midterms into chaos and stranded millions of absentee voters. Blocking this power grab protects a sacred right.

Mail-in voting is a wide-open invitation to fraud, and the government had every right to make federal ballot mail visible and traceable. The only reason the timing got tight is that challengers filed premature suits and courts piled on injunctions later found to be issued without jurisdiction. Rewarding that delay with a block is a loss for election integrity.
