Micron just delivered the biggest payout in its history, and Taiwan workers are the biggest winners. Up to 68 months of pay, a NT$1 million thank-you bonus and equity grants for the entire workforce prove the company shares its AI windfall with the people who built it. That is a serious commitment to Taiwan talent, not a token gesture.
This bonus still falls short of what SK Hynix and Samsung hand their memory workers, so calling it generous is a stretch. Taiwan employees carry the bulk of Micron's revenue and deserve compensation that matches Korean rivals, not a one-time payout meant to quiet the shop floor. Strike action is still on the table, and it should stay there.
