AugustThis 2026report tying July 2023 as the hottest month ever recorded, at 1.65 degrees Celsius above preindustrial levels, is a flashing red warning light that can no longer be ignored. Record sea surface temperatures and the warmest summer on record for western Europe show the heat is everywhere, and El NinoNiño hasn't even peaked yet. The driver is the relentless burning of coal, oil and gas, and the bills are coming due in ruined harvests, higher food prices and lives lost.
Another breathless "hottest month ever" headline right on cue, and it turns out the scary numbers lean on modeling and estimates of "pre-industrial" temperatures nobody actually measured. Dressing up guesswork as irrefutable evidence is the same trick that produced Neil Ferguson's laughablegrossly overestimated pandemic projections. This is a green scam built to justify taxes, mandates and trillions in spending.
There is a 98% chance there will be at least 2˚C of global warming by 2100, according to the Metaculus prediction community.
