Refusing to name Morocco's role while shifting responsibility for the border collapse to Europe is a betrayal of Spain.
Europe's response to Ceuta exposes more than the failure of outsourcing border control to Morocco. Washington and Israel were already at odds with Sánchez, and suspicions that Madrid was being punished while Rabat weaponized migration cannot be brushed aside. Brussels' muted response reinforces the impression that Spain was left exposed by its supposed allies.
