The Israel-DRC partnership is a model for what smart diplomacy looks like — security cooperation, agricultural development, health care aid and technology sharing all moving forward together. Tshisekedi's visit to Jerusalem delivered real results, including new agreements and a shared commitment to implementation, not just signatures. Africa and Israel are building something durable and mutually beneficial.
Israel's expanding African partnerships deserve scrutiny, not celebration — covert military ties to the RSF, a militia documented as committing genocide in Sudan, reveal a pattern of prioritizing strategic interests over human rights. Bilateral deals dressed up as friendship obscure a harder truth about how these relationships actually function on the ground. Agreements and photo ops do not erase complicity in atrocities.
