Demanding democratic freedoms shouldn't land someone behind bars for decades, yet Wong now faces life imprisonment for doing exactly that. The U.S., Britain and other democracies must keep pressing China to release Wong and all Hong Kong political prisoners.

These weren't acts of peaceful dissent but coordinated campaigns to invite foreign interference in China's internal affairs. Hong Kong's courts, which rank highly in international legal standings, handled this case through a legitimate legal process.
