Meta knowingly built Facebook and Instagram to psychologically trap kids, using infinite scroll, autoplay and vanishing Stories to exploit teen impulse control — then hid the damage. A former safety engineer testified that harmful content was removed just 0.02% of the time, and Zuckerberg never responded to findings that over half of teen users encountered harm within a week. The company must pay for a dangerous, deliberate business strategy.

Instead of cosmetic fixes, Meta has over the years invested in teen safety tools, including mandatory time limits for users under 16 and Teen Accounts with protections on by default. The "Take a Break" feature started with low adoption, but Meta kept iterating on it until protections became automatic, which is how responsible product development works. Portraying that process as evidence of bad faith ignores real, documented progress.
