The Spin

The Supreme Court's 6-3 ruling is a dangerous step toward letting Trump hijack state-run elections through the back door. Turning the Postal Service into a gatekeeper of voter eligibility has no constitutional basis — states and Congress control elections, not the White House. With the midterms less than 80 days away, this ruling injects chaos and threatens to silence millions of legitimate mail-in voters.

The Supreme Court's 6-3 decision is a clear victory for election integrity, affirming that Trump's executive order simply directs federal agencies internally and imposes no unconstitutional burdens on states. Requiring unique barcodes and verified voter lists before mailing ballots is a commonsense safeguard against illegal voting. States that refuse to cooperate with basic verification measures have no standing to cry foul over rules that protect legitimate voters.
