Sailors on the USS Abraham Lincoln are stuck past eight months at sea with moldy showers, broken toilets and rationed food, and some are so desperate they tried jumping overboard. Nobody signs up for indefinite deployments with no end date and grueling 16-hour shifts. Congress needs to step in and demand answers before more service members break under the strain.
Signing up for the Navy means accepting hardship, and anyone who cannot handle a long deployment probably should not have enlisted in the first place. The ship's deck has no railings, so falling or slipping off is hardly the dramatic suicide attempt being described. This whole story sounds like it is being blown way out of proportion.
