Trump Sued Over Truth API's Paid Early Access to Posts

The Spin

Trump is cashing in on the presidency itself, selling early peeks at his own government announcements to Wall Street traders for up to $100,000 a month. That is not business, that is extortion, letting rich firms buy an edge over ordinary Americans and reporters who deserve equal access to official statements. Every citizen, not just paying subscribers, has a right to know what the government is saying at the same time.

Truth API just distributes already-public posts fractionally faster, the same kind of subscription service countless news outlets and platforms offer every day. Left-wing activists and media groups are twisting this normal business practice into a lawsuit meant to silence Trump and hurt shareholders of his struggling company. Selling fast data feeds is common practice on Wall Street, not some corrupt scheme.
