Taiwan cannot keep relying on outdated cyber defenses while China launches millions of intrusions daily and AI-driven offensive tools race ahead of countermeasures. A domestic AI cyber shield, built with partners like the United Kingdom or United States, is the only realistic way to protect critical infrastructure before a crisis hits. Waiting any longer just hands Beijing the advantage in a fight that could start online before a single missile ever flies.
Cybersecurity does not need some flashy new AI shield invention; it needs the kind of steady, whole of society resilience Taiwan already builds for typhoons and earthquakes. Telecommunications resilience and critical infrastructure protection matter more than chasing the next AI trend. Real security comes from societal cohesion and recovery capacity, not from betting everything on unproven autonomous defense platforms.
