The Senate contempt push against Fauci is pure political theater dressed up as oversight. Rand Paul's hearing was a vendetta, not a legitimate inquiry, and dismantling the CDC and FDA leaves Americans more exposed to real outbreaks happening right now. Pointing fingers at Fauci does nothing to address measles or other active public health crises.
Fauci appeared under subpoena, gave an opening statement, then invoked the Fifth Amendment over 100 times — even though a blanket presidential pardon removed any criminal jeopardy. Florida's AG has issued formal subpoenas over alleged self-dealing and potential fraud, and no pardon shields him there. Stonewalling Congress after accepting immunity isn't protecting rights; it's obstruction.
