Todd Blanche is exactly the kind of Attorney General America needs right now — a highly qualified nominee who has already proven himself fighting crime as Acting AG. The DOJ under Blanche will enforce the rule of law without political interference, which is what law-abiding Americans have been demanding. Blanche's confirmation out of the Judiciary Committee is a win for justice and a step toward real accountability.
The deal Cornyn and Tillis accepted to support Blanche is smoke and mirrors — unsigned memos on DOJ letterhead that no court has approved and that Blanche can walk back the moment the votes are secured. The immunity arrangement protecting Trump's family from tax investigations remains untouched, and nothing stops future taxpayer money from flowing to pardoned January 6 defendants. Confirming Blanche means endorsing the corruption he was built to protect.
