The Spin

The NDAA's Section 219 is a smart, necessary step toward modernizing U.S. defense by deepening cooperation with Israel on weapons research, technology sharing and joint defense industry partnerships. The bill also locks in the ability to transfer weapons from U.S. war reserves in Israel through 2029 without requiring a separate congressional vote, streamlining military readiness. Expanding this alliance strengthens America's strategic position.

Passing a $1.15 trillion defense bill that merges America's most sensitive military technology and intelligence apparatus with a foreign government is a reckless betrayal of U.S. sovereignty. Section 219 hands over critical defense infrastructure with zero accountability, and the bill's 28% spending spike over the prior year shows Congress has abandoned any pretense of fiscal discipline. The Senate must strip Section 219 before this becomes law.
