Was the attack on Ann Widdecombe a clear political assassination or is it too soon to draw conclusions?

The Spin

Ann Widdecombe was allegedly struck 21 times with a hammer in a targeted attack inside her own home, with prosecutors also alleging the suspect possessed leftist extremist material and Nigel Farage speech clippings. Pretending it's too early to recognize the obvious strains credulity. The evidence already presented points overwhelmingly toward a political assassination, not an unexplained act of violence.

Joshua Kerry has been charged with murder because prosecutors found sufficient evidence to bring the case to court, but claims about why he allegedly carried out the attack remain unproven. Counter Terrorism Policing is actively investigating all possible motives, including any political or terrorist connection, and with hundreds of lines of inquiry still being assessed, due process — not speculation — is the only credible path to the truth.
