Seizing an opposition party's entire communications system and membership database without notice is a hallmark of authoritarian rule, not democracy. A president removed for political reasons, opponents barred from elections, and now law enforcement weaponized against Fidesz — Hungary hasn't seen anything like this since 1990. Free elections cannot survive when the ruling party uses prosecutors to destroy its strongest opposition.
