The arrests of Lawrence Bishnoi, Ravinder Dhanda and Jaggu Bhagwanpuria confirm what India has said all along — so-called political refugees operating under the Khalistan banner are running global criminal networks. The killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar wasn't a state-sponsored act but the work of organized crime. Canada owed India an apology the moment the RCMP made these charges public.

The FBI and its partners arrested 24 subjects and charged 37 individuals tied to India-based transnational crime groups — including for the 2023 assassination of a prominent Sikh leader in Canada. This was a massive, historic law enforcement operation spanning multiple continents, not a political vindication for any government. Credit belongs to the Homeland Security Task Force, the RCMP and the Justice Department for dismantling these networks.
