The Spin

The Houthis launched their deadliest attack in years on pro-government forces in Hodeidah, killing 16 soldiers using snipers, drones and mortars. Meanwhile, a cargo ship was attacked 30 nautical miles southwest of Houthi-controlled Hodeida, proving the group's aggression extends beyond land. The Saudi-led coalition has vowed to respond with unprecedented force to protect Yemen's sovereignty and regional stability.

Saudi Arabia's appeasement strategy handed Iran a massive strategic win when an Iranian aircraft landed unchallenged in Sanaa, effectively opening a direct air bridge to resupply Houthi forces. Years of costly maritime interdiction efforts are now obsolete, and the Houthis are deadlier than ever — as proven by the 16 government troops killed in Hodeidah. The Crown Prince's obsession with Vision 2030 sacrificed regional deterrence for a fragile illusion of peace.
